Empty Slot - Suggestions?

Putting my FAC in tomorrow for 2 free 1 for 1's.
I already have an empty slot for a 223 and the first slot is going to another 300BLK but this time in straight pull.
Second slot not so easy, I'd like something cheap and cheerful my son can use indoors, possibly another downloaded 308. He currently uses the Howa 308 but I'd like to get that back and set for outdoor range use. Preferably in plastic as he's not a great lover of wood!.
Ammunition wise I have progressive presses set up for 44mag & 300BLK and a turret press for the 308 (all set for reduced loads to use indoors) so something using those calibres would be ideal.
Only things I've looked at so far are a VZ58 in 7.62x39? or a Thompson/Centre Venture in 308.
I had thought of one of the Czech 22 LBPs but I had a Buckmark and it just didn't feel right.
So, suggestions please . . . .

No .357 on that list...an easy round to load for.
Or, what about a classic caliber such as 32/20 or 25/30 or 310 Cadet?
9mm, perhaps....

What about the Pietta PPSh copy? The wood can be forgiven...

I have chronographed my Australian international arms in 7.62x39 to shoot indoors with a 125 soup can and 4 grains of Vit N310 just getting it sighted in ready for Dromias bench rest comp using cast boolits.
Its different :shakeshout:
I am also toying with the idea of having a go indoors with the MAS36 it would be worth it just for the look on Adams face party2 :shakeshout: :shakeshout:
Seriously though I like the 7.62x39 cartridge its a interesting one to reload for and cheap to run using cast boolits out to 100yards and as most of the ranges I shoot on are 100yards it fits in well. I have found that suitable Jacketed bullet's can be difficult to get hold of in my neck of the woods.

Jacketed 30cal are not a problem, I still have over 1600 Nosler CC 168g
As it's mainly going to be used downloaded indoors the VZ58 may be the option although the pricing and order options have gone from the Caledonian website.
I'll politely ignore the 9mm option

The Australian international arms is .311 it uses a 125grain .311 jacketed bullet hence the problem getting hold of the correct jacketed bullet.
But not a problem if I shoot cast.

The soup cans supplied by Dodgyrog work very well in the AIA. Nice tight groups with either 4 grains of VIT N310 or 3.6grains of Bullseye.
The MAS36 is a true .308 so the soup cans would have to be re sized to .310 if you wanted to use them in the MAS. I am still debating wether or not to commit to building a cast load for the MAS if so I am not sure I would use the soup cans.

Soupcans work just fine in the MAS, just cast and size to at least groove diameter.
