Been on a business trip this week and snatched a quick dinner in an O'Neil's pub. Decided to get my laptop out to have a quick look at this very website. Free internet was provided by O2, I logged in and clicked on my favourites list to get here to only find it blocked due to it possibly being illegal, offensive or virus laden. There was a link to complain so feeling rather irritated I did pointing out that Full-bore UK is a sports shooting website, sports shooting is not illegal, a sport I participate in and the block should be lifted!

This is the automated reply I got:

restaurants, pubs and streets we don’t allow access to extreme adult
material.

regularly screen out all 18+ content.

3. The site contains malware, phishing or virus risks that may harm your
computer. We want to protect you and your equipment.

4.The content site contains illegal or banned material.

If you still believe that your site doesn’t fit these criteria, please
let us know by responding to this email and we will review the specific
site.

This put my nose right out of joint! So I immediately replied with this shorter message:

Sir,

www.full-bore.co.uk IS NOT EXTREME ADULT 18+ material! It is a Sports shooting website!

Sports shooting, the sport I participate in is NOT ILLEGAL! All people from children to the elderly participate in it and your reply has only served to insult me even more.

This is not the first time Shooting websites have been unfairly blocked on public Wi-Fi, it is worth fighting back!

Bloody Orange did it to me with my own internet and phone.

It took a good two hours of ever increasing ranting in an Orange shop to get it lifted. :cool2:

I couldn't even access my own web site.

2 mins with orange, and the same with vodafone this week, I just told them I needed my pron stream !

Seems BASC is aware of this as it is one their key issues.

You might also have mentioned that the UK Fullbore Rifle Team are the current World Champions, and have been for some years.

About 2 years back (pre Full-Bore) I had the same problem with "Virgin" and "the Cloud" - their ban was on anything shooting related - GunTrader, Ruag, Beretta, Browning, Eley, &c &c &c. I spent an hour constructing a list of about 200 sites that were barred and just hammered the managment with complaints and all they had were petty excuses such as "protecting children" to which my answer was "from what? it is not illegal or immoral".

I finally cracked it when I got a senior member of Virgin management to see what was happening - and after failing to access the web sites, I proceeded in just a few secnds to bring up pages of soft porn and then some real hardcore.

Problem sorted!
