Pistol shooting

Had a range day today a bit wet at the end of the day after drying and cleaning every thing it was time to lock stuff away. My loft is a bit of a mess at the moment trying to insulate it with out losing reloading space. I came across a card board box had a squint in side it was full of old shields and trophy's I collected in my pistol shooting days. I pulled up a stool and had a good rummage the memories just flooded back strange how a piece of wood with a little tin badge with your name on it can bring memories of all those good times and the old friends some of which I still shoot with and sadly some of which are no longer around.

It got me thinking one of the guys I was on the range with to day was the first guy I met when entering my first shooting club many years ago he took pity on the new young guy its down to him I got into the sport he is about 73 years old now and we are still shooting together all though the pistols are gone.

(Well OK that's enough of that get them guns locked away get down that loft ladder and re-join the real world. NO THATS NOT A TEAR IN THE CORNER OF MY EYE IT MUST BE DUST you silly women.)

Strangely enough my son and I were at a party last night out in the middle of nowhere, going there we went through a small village and I realised it was where the chap who introduced me to reloading some 35 years ago used to live.

I spent the rest of the journey telling my son about the weird and wonderful things he used to keep in his shed!. 35 years later my room full of reloading presses and other assorted gear looks suspiciously similar

Happy days! I remember Practical Pistol shooting comps back in the `70's with the UKPSA when I was young and fit. I still have my team sweatshirt (doesn't fit anymore, sigh!)
