Hmmm now what to get at the shooting show, I am just waiting for my FAC to come through!

Will have £800 - £1k to spend but dont know what to go for :shock:

Logic says go for a .22 so I can get the most use out of it straight away (but which one... looking at a M4/AR varient as I only want it for fun)

Heart says go for a Mk4

Or do I go for a starter .308

I am sure once you get to the show all your plans go out the window.
There will be a lot of temptations there.

The Gun Pimp (Vince) will be there, I am sure he can point you in the the right direction of something interesting.
Anselm will have a stand there (Osprey Rifles)
MikMak (Dolphin Rifles) will be there (but no stand)

They are all forum members and knowledgeable people when it comes to rifles.

22...LR? ok for paper punching out to 100 or small vermin out to 60...CZ452 and half decent scope.
.38...assuming for U/L...Marlin 1898 Ballard rifling tang sight
.303...Enfield...
2 x .308...Remington 700 SPS Varmint and cheap scope

Yeah I know, unfortunately the Mrs got laid off just before xmas so have to be realistic for the time being and not go for a bank loan on my wage alone

22LR will only want it for paper punching hence the M4/AR varient happy to live with Iron sight atm :P
.38 - not in any rush to get one yet!
.303 - have always loved shooting the Enfield Mk4
One of the 308 will be for short stuff and want iron/apature sights on it (even more of a dilema now I've seen those Mauser's in 308 from C&G - anyone know if they are going to the shooting show?)
