when on holiday?

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone does anything with their rifles when on holiday?

when we have been away previously we had relatives stay in the house, but this year we are going away with those relatives, so the house will be empty for two weeks, I would not really have thought about it, but Police direct reported that there had been some burglaries recently where cabinets had been broken into and firearms stolen.

should I find a friendly RFD to look after them?

cheers.

Richard

If it's not going to cost you a fortune, then you might get some peace of mind by lodging them with an RFD.

Regarding the initial question, if they went to an RFD could you keep the bolt locked at home.. smile2

I tend to remove the fore-ends from my shotguns and store them elsewhere when away fro any significant period.

In the past I used a local RFD who offers short term storgae for a nominal sum.

I always remove the bolts and magazines from my rifles and deposit them with a RFD buddy, this includes the fore-ends from my shot guns.
I also take an inventory of my ammo stocks, just in case the unthinkable happens.

Thanks all, I will investigate to see if there are any RFDs near me and how much they charge.
