As a current member of BASC,and I am completely satified with what they stand for and the services and advice they can offer, but,and theres always a but, without causing a war, which is better BASC or the NRA. I know being a member of the NRA gives certain advantages to people wishing to fire at Bisley etc,but it is a long way from South Wales and I have no wish to drive up there. One reason its too costly with current fuel prices.
So apart from that advantage, which has the largest membership and regarded to be the better.

Stick with BASC mate. The NRA have been incredibly short sighted at times and in comparison to BASC and the other organizations has done bugger all to fight for our rights and protect our sport. In many cases its a matter of, if it doesn't happen at Bisley, they aren't interested.

Col, I would have thought this subject had been done to death on a fair few occasions in the past. If you are looking for insurance and want to support our National Rifle Association and shoot at Bisley or shoot with an NRA affiliated club then the NRA would be the way to go.
If you do not shoot with an NRA affiliated club will never shoot at Bisley are more interested in the field sport side of things and want insurance and legal advice then BASC or something similar.

If you want to book targets at Bisley as an individual and or shoot in the Imperial meeting then join, if you don't then don't bother.

I do other forms of shooting with shotguns etc and have always seen basc as a all forms of shooting organisation. That's why I've always been with them.
