Does anyone on here own an Alfa Proj LBR?

Their LBR / carbine is a current model - and I've occasionally seen a few for sale over here.

Any opinions? Does anyone know if there's a UK importer?

If not, can I import one using the authority on my FAC?

(No offence to any badgers that may be forum users of course!)

Fiddlesticks. On Gunstar there's some cheeky monkey's starting to ask nearly £800 for a Taurus, and crazy money for the Ruger's.

I want something reasonable for about £600 - 700 new and at least £100 cheaper used.

What caliber? I know where there is a brand new .44 for 700, I think.

Got remember Taurus has dropped them from their catalog

Mersey armoury are the importers and distributors. I had a .357 Alfa-proj up until recently and while not of the same standard as a S&W it certinly wasn't what I would call rough, in fact it was probably better made than most Taurus LBRs. Double action wasn't particularly good but once again probably just as good as a poor Taurus. When fired single action it was excellant and certainly shot the spots off every Taurus I have ever seen.
It's biggest fault was however that bloody long barrel sitting out front and that stupid bar stuck on the bottom of the frame, such a shame that we couldn't do away with these hinderances to good shooting. What does surprise me is the cost of all LBRs now. I only paid £350 for mine new about 5 years ago.

Their website doesn't inspire much confidence - are they still trading / a reputable dealer?

If you are talking about Alfa-proj it's quite a comprehensive website and should supply all the information you require. If you are refering to Mersey Armoury I don't know because it's only a one man band as far as I know. The last time I spoke to the owner he was explaining the difficulties of transporting guns to the U.K. and of limited supply. Mersey Armoury appears to be a reputable company and has been around for quite a few years.

One popped up on GT yesterday.

Two sets of grips, reloading dies, two speed loaders and 200 .357 rounds. All for less than £500.

Rang them up and someone's already beaten me to it. :(
