Schutzenfest 2013
I am sending a open invitation to anyone wishing to attend Our 9th annual Schutzenfest.
May 3rd, 4th and 5th 2013
It is In Gibsonberg, Ohio, U.S.A.
(Just incase you happen to be in the area)
Tower75 has already booked his flight (again)
For those that do not know, this event has very little in commonwith a proper European Schutzenfest except we shoot firearms, eat, and do just a wee bit of drinking after we have put all the firearms away for the day.
This is a very laid back easy going family fun event, for new and vetern shooters, young and old.
There are some fun, "non serious" compitition events and lots of general plinking.
Great przes and give aways.
Firearms of all types from the early 1800's to something made last week. Thousands of them.
See something you like?
Just ask the owner and He or She will be more then happy to give you more informatation then you ever want to know about it, then let you shoot it.
Think of a Firearm museum where you get to touch and shoot the toys!
Check it out the photos and videos at the Schutzenfest website. http://www.schutzenfest.net

If only I could make it, Bill, if only.......
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Re: Schutzenfest 2013
Yes, I'm still planning on it. It all depends upon what days I get off from work.
Andrew is going to be in country over a week, so alot of it depends upon my schedual. I should know more as the time gets closer. I really would like to bring him up there.
Thank you again for your offer.
Bill.

Re: Schutzenfest 2013
Well Tower75 arrived last Wedensday and we attended the shoot over the weekend.
We all did our best to corrupt the young lad to our evil ways.
Photos will be coming soon.
One of the prizes donated by "Burners Gun Werks" was 100 rounds of high grade Golden Tiger brand 7.62 x 39. Tower won it as a door prize.
Well he was shooting my ammo anyway so I guess we both won on that drawing.
I happened to win a Chinese Tokarev pistol from another donatation.
Every year those of us at Surplus Rifle Forum (SRF) have pins cast for each year's Schutzenfest.
This years featured rifle happens to be a Enfield.

Gathering in for the safety briefing.

Our man Tower rocking a AKM.

The youth .22 match. They had to "Clean their plate". They were given a set number of rounds to take down a knife, fork and spoon standing in a foam picnic plate at 25 yards. It was a very close run with extra relay shoot offs to get the winners.

Myself giving instruction to young Master Everett (11 years) on the operatation of a FAL heavy barrel. This young man can shoot!
I wish I could still hold as steady as he can.

Best Tee Shirt of the day.

One of our 3 gun shooters.

My Mate Tommy instructing young Master Ian on the proper use of a Webley revolver.

Proof there were more in attendance then young lads, and old fat guys.

There were many more ladies.
The steel just could not hold up.

More photos to come later.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!
