I have an old Vari X-II which I'm thinking of having modified with target turrets. I know that the factory in the US do it but they refer me to their UK dealer GMK. They don't answer e-mails so I'm wondering if there is an independant person who might do this sort of job?
I know there are some after-market knobs that just screw on but I'm not very keen on that idea.

If GMK are not responding - as a main importer there will be little margin in it for them to carry out the work - then it IS a case of either finding another third party in the USA or getting some of the replacement turrets yourself...I've read good reports about them, just depends how adept you are with a 4lb mash hammer

Are these any good? I know they are the screw on type and as they come from HK they may be copies but they are a lot cheaper than any others I have seen. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stoney-Point- ... 0864904096

Meaty,
Thanks but most of the posts I've seen about these suggest that they can't quite cope! They don't provide the positive 'clicks' needed.
I've been given a suggestion for a place in Germany so I'll try that. Thanks for your help everyone.

Watcher, your doing it all wrong mate, if there is no service centre in the UK or GMK are not interested you can send the scope back to Leupold in the US without the need for a import/export licencse. Below is a link giving all the relevant info that you need. Just let Leopold know that the folks they recommended are not interested.
Import/Export Licensing Requirements

BTW, give them a call first and find out how much it will cost, it might be cheaper to send it to one of the European service centres
