I am struggling to find a supply of 125grain .311 bullets for my 7.62x39 I have some 170grain .311 I was wondering if I could develop a load using this weight of bullet. Any thoughts on the subject.
The maximum distance I will use it over is 300yards.

Re: 7.62x39
Dave I am assuming it is condom bullets that you are after, if so are you sure its 0.311" you need?
Will 0.308" not do? Have you slugged the barrel?

Re: 7.62x39
I think I have a part used box of some S&B around the 123-125 weight. Someone asked me for a handful as samples and the rest of the box is probably still on the shelf.
Re: 7.62x39
Yes please as long as they are .311.
Re: 7.62x39
Yes they are, I will dig them out in the morning.
Re: 7.62x39

Re: 7.62x39
I am looking back in my reloading note books but I have a feeling that we slugged the bore at 6c it was either this one or the 8mm Mauser.
Thinking about it maybe it was the Mauser. I am sure I slugged this bore I wil have to go back through my notes. But one thing I do know for sure it is definitely not a .308 bore.
In fact its all flooding back to me now I bought cast bullets of Rog for this rifle and I gave him a size to swage them to.
Any way its condom bullets I am looking for at present. I would like to take the cast boolit development further in this little beauty but my casting material is all most gone and I don't know were I would get any more with out forking out daft amounts of money. So my casting days are rapidly running out.
This rifle performs very well with cast loads out to 100yards and that is what I bought it for some thing different that I can re load for and shoot at 25yds 50yds and 100yds and it does that very well. Except that I can not get condom bullets for it any were.
Please don't tell me that H. K---ks sells them otherwise you will get lots of swear words. Phoned them up asked if they stocked them yes they said OK I said I will drive down and collect some. No problem they said we will have them ready for you. Two and a half hour drive later I arrived sorry they said but we only have a box of 49 bullets in the whole of the shop.
