Partial resizing

I read a article about partial re sizing I just wondered if any body had any experience of this technique.

I had a neck sizing die fell to bits on me. So I used a Lee full length die. I screwed the die in to the press then lifted the case up using the ram I then screwed the die in until it touched the case mouth. I lowered the ram then screwed the die in one full turn and then run the case in to the die. I carried on with this procedure until the neck was sized down to the shoulder. Then I locked the die down and run 30 cases through the die.
Any body done this before any advice. This was just a experiment but I am tempted to charge the cases and give it a whizz. What do you reckon guys.

There is partial sizing and partial full length resizing.

Sizing the neck with a full length can be classed as partial sizing, however as the die starts to size the case body then the brass has to go somewhere and the case lengthens until the die comes down far enough for the shoulder to be pushed back to the SAAMI spec can be classed as partial full length sizing.

I will neck size in a full length size die until the die starts touching the body of the case, as the case will be fire formed and I don't want to resize the body.

I have used the techique to help take up headspace and to improve chamber fit, just lengthening the case so it becomes a slight crush fit in the chamber, obviously it is calibre/chamber dependent on how effective it is.
