Saw a black powder revolver at a local shop the guy said it was a Uberti in .44, it looks like a 'peacemaker' but I can find any details anywhere. Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers Rob

Uberti do do a .44" cap and ball version of their Colt Single Action Army Cattleman pistol.

It really needs the separate Revolver loading stand as its best to load the cylinder off the pistol.

From what I can see you can't load it in the pistol, couldn't see anything about on on Uberti's web site. Have you used one and are they any good. How much should I be paying for one without the loader 2nd hand

Cheers

Nothing wrong with the pistols from the few times I had them in and shot them.

They retail new for about £360 from memory, so second hand perhaps £150-£200 depending on condition and source. Pietta do one as well I think and they were a bit cheaper.

They have been around for a while in the states and consequently some have crept over here over the years so if someone has had one tucked away for a while you could get a bargain in a private sale.

I bought an Uberti a couple of weeks ago, I haven't used it yet as our next pistol/carbine shoot isn't until March.
Anyway I am pleased with the quality, fit and finish good and I got it for a really good price as it had sat on the shelf for a long time.
As for the loading stand, I couldn't bear to part with £30 for one, so Mr Heath Robinson spent the afternoon in his shed yesterday tying bits of string etc., and produced a workable solution.

Mmm - link goes to a 9mm rimfire blank-firer - by PIETTA, not quite spelt U B E R T I

Cheaper on bullets & targets though as neither are needed.... I can see SimG needing at least 3 of them, he already shoots like he's using one!
