Browning X-Bolt

Had a good look at a Browning X-Bolt in Sportsman / Litts the other day. It certainly looks very well put together. Brownings and Remingtons seem to be very competitively priced these days. Although the Scandinavian and German offerings seem to get all the limelight.
Years ago the Remington 700 seemed to be the yardstick that all others were judged by and also the base for building a custom rifle.
Has anyone had experience with the X-bolt ?
