Hi all

Anyone out there know owt about the Arisaka as a shootable proposition? I gather the action is very strong.

Just that I have a 6.5 permission and have been looking at the options.

I did look at the Ariska sniper a while ago but the only example (Singular) I could find was very tatty and would of required me selling my first born to fund the transaction.

Normal ones seem to go for sensible money and are certainly something different to use.

I never thought of that! Not sure he's of merchantable quality :(

I think Gillie Howe (MAF) is listing a carbine but no pic on his site.

Hi ,seen a couple at gunshows, you will need to reload for the 6.5 and the 7.7.

The 7.7 was the updated round. Arisaka's can be looked at as a Jap mauser knock off but do shoot good.

Most of them have a defaced crest or "mom / mum" , which they were told to do if they were captured. If you can find one without the defaced crest then happy days.

My choice would be the Ariska 7.7 type 99 with the anti aircraft sights :>
