Has anyone got a pack of Wolf 223 ammo bought in the UK. If so, could you please post a picture of the box and particularly the UPC code?

its not all that bad, I've plinked through a couple of hundred of them, and had just one "fizzle" at the price they work for me out to 300yrds and for plinking are fine, of course if you were in a comp then you probably wouldn't want to use them tongueout

Kenny, how did they compare to the Barnaul of mine you tried? I am about to order a few thousand again and I have only shot them personally in my black gun so it would be nice to know they work in other rifles.

I've used Barnaul in my Tikka T3 Lite but not been that impressed so far, they don't seem to group to well. Tried something else, the name of which escapes me, with better results, albeit at a rather higher cost than for the Barnaul.

Barnaul is a cheap round, I think the new lot of Barnaul 62 grain FMJ we are selling is somewhere around GBP18.50/100 however we do prefer to sell them in multiples of 250 at that price. OK it will not hold 1/4 MOA at 300 however it shot OK in my SGC and at that price you can have a lot of fun for not a lot of money.

Thanks very much,I find the ammunition is fine for plinking, general rifle practice and letting guests use a rifle at the range. I make my own now. Could you possibly send a close up of the bar code? I had some correspondence with Wolf about getting ammo of a different calibre. The person I wrote to was surprised that I'd used their 223 because they didn't know it was being sold in the UK and asked if I would forward a picture of the package and UPC code. I'd chucked mine out, so your is very helpful.

I can't for the life of me understand this desire to shoot cheap inaccurate ammo. The only reason for shooring is to hit the target consistantly and with the smallest possible group, IMHO,
Please educate me as I seem to be missing something

I bought mine with the rifle. It was the first rifle I'd had and I wanted to fire a lot of rounds to practice all the elements of shooting and range discipline cheaply. It was useful for that although I soon found out that I could make my own ammunition and that it was better. It was useful having a few boxes of Wolf and Norinco ammunition against which I could compare the accuracy of my home loads. This is how I was able to see that the groups from my own ammunition were better than the cheapest round I could buy - that (apart from the fun) is a good justification for home-loading, it's also very encouraging for the beginner.

Norinco 5.56 is interesting stuff! Seemed much faster than Wolf and with more recoil, grouped well at 300 and 400 but not at so well at 100m - don't quite know why. I now use a basic Remington 233 as my comparison round when reloading.

Rog, the Barnaul we sell seem very popular with quite a few shooters, same goes for the 7,62X51 last lot we had in was selling at GBP24/100 which is super cheap shooting and it was fine out to 800 yards.

I personally shoot Danish AMA 7,62x51 in my Accuracy International and can hold around 1MOA at 650 yards which is perfect for ETR's/knock downs. The bad news is the AMA is very hard to come by so I tend to hold onto any I can find.
