Does your club hold an RFD ticket?
Just wondering if any other clubs out there have an RFD ticket to try and take advantage of cheaper sources of ammunition and guns?
Re: Does your club hold an RFD ticket?
No club RFD but a few RFD's in the club so there are usually some very good deals available
Re: Does your club hold an RFD ticket?
Yeah our club is also an RFD so we have a large range of ammo but not always the cheapest but the owner can normally get guns from other RFD's at trade prices, i got my M & P 15-22, scope, mounts and mags at cost.
Re: Does your club hold an RFD ticket?
Is your club a business then or a not-for-profit / members club? Our club is looking at getting a ticket too and I just wondered what others experiences were.Primer wrote:Yeah our club is also an RFD so we have a large range of ammo but not always the cheapest but the owner can normally get guns from other RFD's at trade prices, i got my M & P 15-22, scope, mounts and mags at cost.

I think it's described as both on their website, the owner says the range does not make a profit, he makes his money from running maritime armed guard courses and other ventures he's got going, I think the members fees just cover the staff costs, the rfd bit i think is because he sells the tsc 1911 lbp and he haw a small shop for members really which should get bigger and better when the 100 m range is finished.majordisorder wrote:Is your club a business then or a not-for-profit / members club? Re: Does your club hold an RFD ticket?
No RFD but we do have a FAC cert in the clud secs name and Clubs addy to buy ammo in qty with conditions, we have NO club guns.
Re: Does your club hold an RFD ticket?
If the club has an RFD, then it almost certainly will be treated by HMRC as a business - with all the attendant costs and administration. Most clubs can remain as a charity, even if they sell ammunition or charge fees for events (has be to members only, so that no "profit" is made from external parties).
