Hi All

RATON Training Sessions

Tagline change O:-)
You will see the "ENS" tagline has been updated - the Viking "insisted" saying that with new members joining they may or may not realise who are the lucky shooters etc.

Training Sessions
Needless to say the next 7 months will be very focussed of RATON and the F-Class World Champs.

As such I plan numerous training sessions at Bisley - and yes I mean "TRAIN".
I will likely be booking a range on a SAT afternoon and then again the next SUNDAY morning.

My primary focus will be on improving my wind reading (and wet weather shooting no doubt).
If any forum members would like to join me they would be most welcome.
A contribution to range /marker costs would be appreciated as well as giving me an opportunity to do some "wind reading / calls" with you and your firearm/ammo combo to enhance and calibrate my skills. And hopefully you may also learning something!

For JAN, FEB, MARCH I may do about 3 sessions at 600 yards with some 800,900 and 1000 yards only

From April onwards sessions will be at 800,900 and 1000 yards only.

I will update you with dates +_ 2 weeks in advance!

Please PM me if you have any questions!

Regards

TIM "ENS"

Count me in for this - let me know dates and go from there. Quite happy with even split of all associated range costs.

I'll bring the 308 then :-) if the 223 is working I might have to bring it down for the odd shot though - with the 80 amax and a stout load it shoots the same wind as the 308 with 155s though...

Aaah ok - bring the "dinkie" then - may as well learn to adapt I must emrolleyes

BTW I tested the 185 Berger Juggernaughts and 185 Hydrids yesterday at Diggle in rather challenging conditions

Lets say JUG 9/10 - elevations of 0.4 moa at 1000 in tough conditions :good:

Hybrid 3/10 :bad: - but i must play with seating depth abit more

I need to have a play with the 185s, did try but didn't get them working right.

I can't get the 155 hybrids to shoot as well as the 155 FB or the 155 scenar. Probably stick with the lapua given the price difference.

In 223, the 80 amax is a finnicky sod, but put it out there and it shoots. The 80.5 berger is a good bullet too but not as good as the amax, and more expensive. ..

hi Tim

No doubt I shall attend, I have some serious practice to get before the start of the TR season. Keep me informed of dates, the way my shift pattern is most weekends are completely clear up to the end of March.
