Lightest .451 bullets

Have you ever seen any .45 cal bullets (well) under 160grn? I'm looking for something very light to play with and trying to source some.

Too light & the length to bore dia. ratio is messed up - ideally you want a MINIMUM of a length that is three times bore dia.
&
you'll also lose momentum quicker with the lower mass so the trajectory will have a very rapid fall off

Hmmm, seems like I've lots to learn.
I've been reading quite a bit about .45 acp and making it fast for longer range shooting. Saw some US site with details of a 65grn (non lead) bullet doing some silly speeds so I thought something inbetween in lead (120-140grn) might offer significant velocity increases, less drop, bigger bang over the 185/230 grn I've currently got.
It's like science this isn't it :lol:

the 45 acp is a great round for putting .45 holes in things up to maybe 100yds (or maybe a little further if the target was unlucky!) but it's unlikely your going to turn it into anything it isn't that hasn't been tried in it's 100 odd year history so far!
i'd be thinking bigger all round if you insist on putting .45 holes in things at extended range,maybe a 45/70?

Na, I know 100 is about it range wise but a few things I've read on US sites has made me think about it a bit more. Given my club range max is 100yds I don't really need that extra. Just might be fun turning up somewhere with a 200+ range and having a crack without the barrel being up like a mortar. I'm set on the ACP anyhow as most of my shooting's indoors.

with a 185g bullet at 1000fps you will need about 14.5 foot of elevation to connect at 300m but on the plus side with that trajectory you will be able to shoot the target without raising the frames! not much fun for the butt party!!!!

Ah, but at 1900fps it'll be a mear 6(ish) feet much better razz
