Hi guys,

new to forum and wondered if anyone is reloading 9mm?

im using 124gr at the mo and was looking for a heavier head for a subsonic reload, as i still need the power to operate the blowback system - so 124gr or lighter (with reduced powder) wont do it for me...any thoughts?

thanks

jon

I know what you mean by head matey (ok it's not the correct term but who really cares?) i used to use a 147g lead truncated cone in my glock 17 , it fed really well and was accurate . i'll try and remember where i used to get them and if i can remember i'll let you know.

the other thing you could consider is looking at 357 heads (ha ha ha i done it again) and then size them down to 356 for your 9mm , i did this with my glock again but it used up a bit much case capacity for me so i had to use a fast powder and pressures started to spike before i got a decent velocity ? (that was with a 158g lswc)

thanks you sir... i also reload 357, so was thinking about using 158gr...the only problem I'm concerned about is the bullet ('head') swagging down and causing a lot of fowling in the barrel. Im using fmj at the mo to prevent this.

interesting point about the glock, as im using g17 mags!

I've also heard that the only 'off the shelf' 9mm subs is some Israeli milspec stuff - but whether this is a myth or not commercially available - who knows?

many thanks

jon

p.s. im also after some spare glock 17 mags if anyone has any?

I does do know

Used to run 9mm IMI SAMSON in my Walther P38 back in the pre-ban days. May still have a box left - but only that - an empty box

Look at the bullets offered by Tim Hannams - they have some Hornady 9mm 147gr XTP (but they are a hollow point so Section 5, unless your gun is conditioned for vermin, etc.)
They also have the RelCom 9mm 147gr FMJ for about £21/100 - though these are listed as BULLETS - if you want bullet HEADS they cost 4 times that price as I have to convert them to left handed thread, etc. on a steam powered widget
