This must have gone viral. Only 805 needed which is about 200 votes in about 10 minutes. We should have reached the goal within the hour.

It seems as though the author of the petition (Stijn Vandamme) is also the owner of the Facebook group "Long Distance Shooting in Europe" with the same name, so I guess that the petition has spread through all the European members of the group (unless it's purely co-incidental that there are two Stijn Vandamme's).

Breitbart have now picked up the story:
On November 13 terrorists who were able to acquire firearms and other weaponry despite France’s strict gun controls shot and killed approximately 130 law-abiding citizens who could not arm themselves for self-defence due to the same laws the terrorists ignored. Europe’s response? More gun control.

It's just flicked over to "24,997 needed to reach 75,000"

What number does it have to reach? 100,000?

It does not matter what number it reaches.
Change.org is a business paid for by advertising.
It has nowt to do with any government.
Basically a load of poo.

heres the offical policy statement; according to the text this supid ban has to be approved by
the European Parliament and Council. Thus there may be some hope getting it scraped since every member state has repsentive thats sites on the council i think!

what i dont understand though, if this is passed the compensation package would be huge as they have a lot higher gun owernship then we do, or will they find a legal way out of it ?
