If we had the the same level of problems with discussing older guns as we have had with AR discussions then it is very likely that I would do a SOWR Alert post to try and head off repeat history in what was meant in light hearted way.

For the difference as I see it tween ARs and pretendy ARs I have already explained that in this thread.

The "malignant intent" is your interpretation. I have told you the intent but you obviously choose not to believe it.

One can choose to be offended but you can't choose to be provoked......that is in the hands of the provocateur
+1

Dromia, I partly share your views on UK AR & I also trully appreciate your cantankerous side that I have no problem with, but I'd have more respect for you if you admited to the inflammatory choice of your words instead of trying to wriggle about ... ;)

This thread went off-topic the moment the stupid "Pretendy AR Alert" went up......Surely a Moderator would sit back and watch how the thread devrloped, if necessary reining it in, rather than posting that flippant comment?.

While we are on the subject of moderation I have been told to change the image hosting site I use to upload photos to this forum as apparently there is a clickable link under the photo "promoting" that site......so should people refrain from posting links to newspaper articles etc etc as it promotes that particular news site, business or whatever???

Strikes me it's Dromia's Way or the Highway!.

If you wish to discuss the link in your photographs and why I brought it to your attention then take it to PM.

Froggy I fully accept that some people on here have seen it as inflamatory.

Their choice in my opinion.

Regarding the provoke/offence issue, the definition is correct but it is not always applied that way in reality.

The reason for changing the image hosting link has been explained to me and I now realise what the problem was and I can understand and accept the Moderators concerns.

Apologies for any misinterpretation regarding this :good:

Would the moderator / Site Administrator like to share those reasons so no one else falls foul of them?

The hosting site used had a link advertising their site embedded in the code thus using F-B UK as a free advertising host.

All that is required is the offending code be removed when posting the link.

Curiosity satisfied?

No, can you inform us of that particular site and how to remove the code please.
