No, but the one pictured is not RH and for that matter is not made RH by GFG so its not the same is it.

In principal, yes it is.

Ok, in principal its the same just like a Mini is the same as a VW Beetle as they are both cars.

If it attaches to the bolt (carrier) that would be the 'standard' Southern Gun Company design 'dog leg'. In order to do that the ejection port has to be lengthened and the case deflector, dust cover and forward assist removed.
The one pictured replaces the t-charging handle and does not require a modified upper receiver/losing the features mentioned above.
Presumably it is on the left rather than the right side because if it were on the right the cases might bounce off your hand and back into the action, which can happen with SP AK's. Pity as, as mentioned it would be better if it were on the other R/H side (for R/H shooters that is)

'They' said that about the SP Steyr AUGs cocking handle too .....

Not the same, look at the 'lever' created in the design of the GFG, if the handle is pulled back at anything other than directly inline with the receiver the ‘moment’ created is likely to lead to early failure; it may not so for those that fancy it as an alternative to more ‘traditional’ UK adaptations pay your money and take your chance.

Are you saying that the T-Bar was not designed to extract fired cases.
I'm just playing devils advocate, but how else would a marine be expected to manually extract a FTE fired round from a rifle? Surely in some way the design of the t-bar is so that it can be used to "hard extract" rounds stuck in the chamber...? With this in mind, surely it would be capable of extracting normally fired rounds from the chamber reliably as it *should* have been over engineered for cases as I have described...?
EDIT: That's not to say it won't
wear quicker, given that it was not designed to be used for EVERY round, but it should reasonably last a few 1000 ejections, at least... Provided that the material used for the t-bar construction is slightly less hard-wearing than the bolt carrier, replacement of the T-bar every few thousand rounds should prevent failure (or replace it when it fails) and make sure the additional wear is on the bar, rather than the bolt carrier?

No, but its not designed to do that for every round fired and if all is working correctly shouldn’t have to extract ‘fired’ cases.

Agreed

Because everything always works correctly in the military... Must be why they have forward assists on AR-15's...

As I say I haven't seen it yet, but as I was told the upper receiver hasn't been modified as they are for the traditional dog legs, so no elongated ejection port, case deflector' still there as is the forward assist and EP cover. His also replaces the t-charging handle, yet still extends forward like the traditional dog legs, pretty much like the one in the picture. I believe his is RH'd, when he replies to a txt msg, I'll confirm the details.
