Labour want to be hard on guns because it's what the public want? Which public is this? Whenever I say I'm a shooter to various people I meet in work/shops/pubs etc most are just intrigued and ask questions, others are not interested and don't. Never have I had a BAD reaction or been censured for my hobby.

What the public want is protection from and prosecution of criminals, with or without guns. Politicians, policy makers and the media need to learn the same basic lesson, A criminal really doesn't care what laws he breaks, they could make a thousand headline grabbing lefty vote winning laws banning all guns from ownership outside the military and it WILL NOT CHANGE A THING! Criminals will still shoot each other.
EXACTLY, and of course they will still shoot innocent people too!

Shame you cannot pleasantly accept that someone may have a contrary view.
I think he's OK with you having a contrary view, it's the fact that you're a complete arse about it that gives him issues I think.

Well they have made it official, If Labour win the election FAC's will cost £200

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... oners.html

All in all my family could be paying out £1200 every 5 years to obey the law and to partake in our chosen sporting activity.
I am most displeased with this development.. aaarggh

Yvette Cooper (Shadow Home Secretary) is my constituency MP, I've had a back and forth mail with her for the last 12 months - she takes about 3 months to reply and even then it's a copy and paste job that doesn't deal with anything I've said.

Short version of the reply she got today was "for £200 quid I want better service, 10 year renewals, and 88 and 97 firearms restored to S1 status - or else consider my vote lost"

About as much chance of that happening as the Lib Dems being able to form a majority government next year.............

I really don't think I could justify paying £200 for my license if it came to it, I have to say. It sounds like money spent better working towards emigrating to the US.

Which again shows how Labour is missing the point here because what will happen is that people won't get into the sport and people will drop out of the sport, so they'll be getting less money on the licenses and the tax from purchases.

Unless the point is to drive another nail into the coffin of British shooting.

Now you're getting it - Labour doesn't give a toss for the working man as non of them have ever worked. This is just pricing you out of your hobby. Now if they had permits at £200 pop to attend footie matches (AKA Organised viololence and vandalism..........)

They hate us and everyone who thinks like us. We're a target to them, nothing else.
