NRA UK also felt unable to support
If that's true (and I wouldn't be surprised as it's not target rifle (in .308) shot at Bisley), then:

Obviously changed a great deal since 88.....

Dromia, I hope you will be able to post any reply that you receive from Mr Mercer. I for one would be interest to read what he has to say.

I will certainly post whatever I get or don't get from Mr Mercer.

I hope that other NRA members will also be trying to find out the NRA's policy on this and their reasoning behind it.

So THATS why they became extinct!

Re: those figures - While i don't doubt that their are 5 million people 'involved' in shooting in some way, i'm pretty sure the actual number of certificates on record at present is around the 750,000 mark, and a good chunk of those will be people who have both FAC's and SGC's. I'd guess the number is more like 500,000-650,000 actual individuals

FYI: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... sb0313.pdf

146,426 FAC, 570,726 SGC. I reckon Blackstuffs half a million individuals would be about right.

For once we are in agreement concerning the NRA!

They have publicised and supported petitions before so what's different here?

I cannot see why they cannot just say "yes we support you" even if they do bugger all about it.

In view of Dromia's above posting can you let us know why you posted the above statement and if you have any proof can you post it here?

Perhaps the NRA reconsidered their position?
