I think I can just make out an enlarged mag release button but either way it doesn't matter.

He may not have done them in volume but he did do the odd FAL (and it is odd!) :)

Picture is a rifle he built in .223 for his wife so he told me, it's a Fal lower/butt/grip with a Lithgow L1A1 upper/fore end/carry handle/fore sight etc. He built another in .22/250 look in the rack above .22/250 barrels.

They're cheaper than a FAL/L1A1 by quite a margin.

But then again if we only went for firearms not adapted / made for UK law, we would have no LBP and a lot less rifles to choose from.

I think given the choice between a straight pull AR type rifle with "non iconic" charging handle and nothing at all, I will take what I can get.
