Or is it a case of can't shoot well with one? Sounds more like sour grapes.
Loads of us shot semi auto before the ban and in the forces /job and yet still achieve a good level of accuracy with them now in straight pull guise.
If you don't like yours or simply can't shoot it for toffee, sell it. Simples.

Good points, how did it feel for you going from a semi Auto rifle to a striaght pull ?

I have no problem cocking my M14 or the FAL, both of which are straight pulls. I think the trick on the AR platform is to get a side charging handle fitted. I was completely against them, but I couldn't be arsed to cock an AR-15 by the T-handle every shot, so I know where you're coming from.

Why don't you buy one of these, you don't need to hack your upper receiver to bits then... I bet ovenpaa could knock you up something much nicer based around the same idea.

Ooo thats different! Sort of preserves the appearance of the gun (you'd be able to retain the case deflector and forward assist but have the better charging ability.

I'd might even want to take it further forward so it was nearer the weak hand

If you want a conversion done on the T-bar, speak to Mark Bradley, he will do it for you, but is done slightly differently to the pic above.

I have one I took off my .300 Whisper SP if anyone is interested in it?

That LH charger is designed for the initial cocking of a Semi-Auto AR15 not a neutered UK Straight Pull where the handle has to be able to extract a fired case for every round fired; the forces used on a UK SP will most likely quickly result the failure of that design as it would be doing something it wasn’t intended for.

There's a bloke at our club who has a straight-pull with a similar design on his .223 AR, I don't think he has any problems with it.

Similar is not the same, but if you think its going to do the job give it a go; problem with LH cocking is its not very good for positonal shooting.

I haven't seen it personally, but I think it could be regarded as the same. I think his is a RH cocking handle as well. I believe ovenpaa has looked at it, so he may have more to add.

Well if its RH cocking as well its not the same as the one pictured is it?

I was told he has a RH charging handle that attaches to the top of the bolt on his SP AR15, similar if not identical to the picture above. Does it matter if it's LH or RH?
