Already have an AK in 7.62 x 39 so plumbed for .223. Feroza did say that the extended handle should be easy to fit afterward as that was one of my first questions when putting together the order. I guess we shall have to see when the time comes how easy it is :)

indeed they are. I think as has been mentioned we should start a FullBore vz58 group as there seems to be a few of us getting them now.

I'm still tempted by these VZ58's, for a grand you can get a really nice setup as per raybrown53 selection, an AR15 setup like that would cost a third more. Only thing in the AR's favour is the ability to change calibres whilst retaining the shooters favourite trigger setup.

Choice's..... Choice's

They're fantastic IMHO.

I think RayBrown has the right spec - definitely get the AR15 stock and adapter as the standard polymer stock has a very short pull and it gives too short relief for scope mounting.

I'd also definitely get an upgrade for an improved bolt handle when Feroza launches them - the standard one is a bit short and with a scope mount you can end up with skinned knuckles if you're not careful (the cases also have a habit of extracting and falling back into the chamber unless you give it a good snap back).

I've got the 1:9 twist and it didn't like the 55 grains so much - it does however love 62 grain best, I'd just wish Sierra would now make a 62 grain .223 bullet!

:shakeshout: Just heard from Feroza they should have the shipment containing my 58 this Thursday so I should have the rifle early next week by the time they have sent it to my RFD. So excited... cant wait....

Pictures to follow when I have it in my mitts....

Do these ( in 7.62x39 ) use standard AK mags ?

The vZ-58 magazines are not interchangeable with the inferior AK and derivatives.

The only things from an AK you can use in your vZ-58 are the ammunition, the magazine pouches and the cleaning kit.

The magazines are typically manufactured from aluminium, lighter and with a built-in bolt hold-open.

My Slovak friends love their vZ-58's.

So tempted to get one but will wait until the new charging handle is available.

For anyone not wanting to pay the rather inflated prices Caledonian have for rails etc. have a look here,

Even Amazon are less than half the price, http://www.amazon.co.uk/FAB-SA-58-POLYM ... AHIZ704V7X
