Thanks for any advice.
The sling is used to steady the aim; I personally prefer to have a No.4T sling swivel forward of the magazine, it is after all just a preferance which is allowed under current NRA rules.

If I shot a LERA Service Rifle match I would naturally check with the SR Captain what the rule on slings for the day is.

Historic Enfield
a Any SMLE, No 4 or No 5 .303” service rifle
b Rests may not be used
c Trigger weight 4.5lbs minimum
d As issued sling

Any Iron
a Iron sights only
b No restriction on slings
c Rests are prohibited
d Trigger weight 4.5lbs minimum
e Magazine resting is permitted, no part of the wrist of the supporting arm may touch the ground
So would my No4 Mk3 with PH target iron sights fit in any Iron? or Historic Enfield? ..... with a sling but no Bayonet?
Quality control of Scottish Ethanol. & RDX/HMX

& my fav chemical is :-) 1,3,7-trimethylxanthine.......... used to kill frogs.... but widely consumed & in vast quantities by the French? Eh?
