Any idea why the cases have the different bands of oxidisation like that?

The case colour was a special annealing to help id the ammo. I have been told the NRA did a series in the rifleman quite a few years ago about the old long range days including the development of the SL Streamlined bullet ammo 303 by Kynoch especially for match shooting. The ultimate in factory 303!
I won't be shooting it, this box is a keeper.
