Whilst it'll reach a limited group of daytime TV watchers (gods punishment for the sick & unemployed) the greatest opportunity to our community is exposing a young TV journalist to legal shooting & gun ownership in the UK, this in my opinion is invaluable and could pay dividens in the long term.
I'd like to see more interaction between gun owners/shooters and journalists as this in my opinion gives us the best opportunity to market our sport/pastime/hobbie in its true light.

First posted comment on the link sums up what the majority reaction will be....barely literate & not letting the facts ruin a blinkered viewpoint.
The mumz will give it similar short shrift. ...

Front page of the BBC (albeit on a smaller thing down near the bottom)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-35588594
Also, note how they fail to mention the legality of semi-auto .22s, blackpowder/muzzle loading pistols and humane dispatch pistols.

Working from home so running it on the iPlayer whilst writing a report. Missed the first fifty minutes but I don't think they have shown it yet.
They have had a bleeding heart Animal rights anti fur campaigner on and they are making a big fuss about maternity vouchers which is not a surprise considering the audience.

Re: Benjamin is making a film.
Not too bad but I have some issues:
1) didn't mention RF semi auto are legal despite showing one at end
2) ended with law commission without explaining our issues with proposed legislation
3) didn't explain the contradictory nature of current legislation in respect of guns allowed - see below
4) no mention of Section 1 shotguns
5) no mention of Section 2 semi auto shotguns
6) no mention of Section 1 black powder pistol
7) no mention of humane dispatch pistol on Section 1
8) no mention of Section 7.3 historic pistols and heritage sites - considering he was at a heritage site that was a glaring oversight
9) vague mention of inconsistencies and loopholes with antiques with no investigation
10) impression given we are against change when we would rather fair legislation
11) vague mention of people being left with guns when their certificates expire without any mention that firearms licencing is the main culprit for this state of affairs
12) impression given that good reason has to be presented for a Section 2 shotgun
Finally whilst I am not happy about self defence part of article and I don't think Callum should of thrown out that line that criminals are laughing as I feel that the program editor was inferring intent so it could of been worse.
Oh and I would like a far greater investigation and explanation of why the Police stuffed up at Hungerford and Dunblane. To be fair it was mentioned but along the lines of this is this guys opinion.

Re: Article on the beeb
The real issue is the police failed to remove firearms from Michael Ryan, Thomas Hamilton and Derek Bird. There were warning signs that were ignored by the police and he missed a trick by not hammering this point home. If we're ever to make any progress on this issue, we need to acknowledge what went wrong and put in measures so it doesn't happen again. Without this, promoting the return of semi-automatic firearms and pistols just falls on deaf ears.

I cringe every time I see anything from Long-Collins. Not sure how a YouTuber gets to be seen as the spokesperson for gun ownership in the UK. He doesn't ever come across as terribly knowledgeable.
