Sorry if I missed it being said but would this legislation affect section one shotguns also

I'm sorry to break this to you, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if airsoft is the very next thing on the "Ban list".

In fact, here's my best guess (list of dispair!) on the order in which privately held firearms will be eliminated (most likely by a process of increasing licensing followed by complete ban for each type) over the coming years unless we manage to stop the rot:

Semi auto firearms resembling military types (fullbore rifles and pistols)
Semi auto firearms resembling military types (small bore, including pistols)
Semi auto and pump action shotguns with large magazines
Remaining semi automatic rifles with high capacity or removable magazines
All airguns to go on FAC
Airsoft/replicas and de-activated firearms
Full bore rifles with removable/"high capacity" magazines (including straight pull or bolt action)
Semi auto and pump action shotguns (ie only double or single barrel shotguns will remain)
Small bore rifles with magazines
Black powder revolvers
Full bore single shot or double rifles
Remaining muzzle loading firearms (rifles & pistols)
Small bore rifles
Airguns
Shotguns (including muzzle loading)

My point here is that we're just looking at a steady movement (the lefties would call it a "progressive policy") towards a total ban on private firearms ownership. Each step seems small, but ultimately is just another blow to the wedge - they will never be satisfied until our sport in all it's forms is gone altogether - complacency is our worst enemy, so we need to stick together and try to protect every one of the shooting sports, even if we have nothing to do with the section that's under threat at the moment.

Goodness knows what they'll do once they've finally succeeded - find something else that offends them no doubt! We'll all have to take up knitting......

I take it your "list of despair" includes mainland Europe.....as we have no semi auto full bore (centrefire) firearms in the UK.

Certainly it would affect some of them,
Bora Barak looks like a full auto M16
Saiga 12 looks like a full auto AK.

Probably others too.
