That's just boring!DW58 wrote:Ahem ... ... ... subsonic .308W ammo for an AI AW anyone?
Thanks Rob. However I have all the info I need to get started with jacketed and Trail Boss. I definitely won't be using lead which seems to have become the main topic of this thread with some thanks to Dromia. Collected all I needed Yesterday from Reloading Solutions - I have to say I was surprised when they said they had stock of B416.DW58 wrote:Ahem ... ... ... subsonic .308W ammo for an AI AW anyone?
I thought you said you were looking for a subsonic load. ?I occaisionally shoot my AI .338 AWM at over 1700 yards - is lead really going to be better than a Lapua Lock Base 250 grain with 88.5 grains of N140?
Despite the thread being hijacked by the lead fraternity I was for my .308 AI. However, they seem to think lead will do everything that a jacketed bullet can, cheaper and better, but I very much doubt this in this case.Alpha1 wrote:I thought you said you were looking for a subsonic load. ?I occaisionally shoot my AI .338 AWM at over 1700 yards - is lead really going to be better than a Lapua Lock Base 250 grain with 88.5 grains of N140?
agreed but equally it doesn't 'not' make sense to use jacketed either.Alpha1 wrote:It's Horses for courses it makes perfect sense to shoot cast in 308 subsonics.
