out of curiosity Sim, how many calibres does the 28000 round allowance cover?.14000 each of x39 and 54r would do me nicely!!!

I appreciate the sentiment, I agree and have done numerous times. The only point I was trying to hammer home is that increases to ammunition are obviously not a one-size-fits-all procedure. For example; Someone shooting an awful lot asking for an increase to mitigate trips to an RFD several times per month is a different situation to someone needing an increase to open the avenue of batch tested ammunition.

The thing to take away from all this is, when asking for a variation on ammunition, preparedness involves sending current usage of ammunition, regardless of your situation.

I have a lot of respect for you Sim, even more so following this post, and I do appreciate your input as you obviously have a lot of experience.

I could originally hold 600 each of 7.62x39 and 54r and when I sent my certificate off for a variation for the Dragunov I put down to up both to 1000 rounds and it came back no problem
