There's a pretty decent book on the SA80/L85 that's out so I'm told, I been meaning to try and grab a copy if I can find one at a realistic price. I think it's called
The Last Enfield, though I've never read it.

Steve Raw's book. Well written, very well researched - lots of primary data on the L85A1 trials. It runs out immediately after the A2 was introduced but I think that was when the book was originally written. I hope he updates it, it was a fantastic volume.
