A gun hotline for people to report concerns over licence holders is hoped to be rolled out in the UK on the back of a one-man campaign to change the law.

The hotline would allow concerned neighbours or friends to ring if they fear for their safety or others around gun holders.
I just reread the original post got me thinking about my neighbours I live in a relatively quiet area and have done for at least 30 years my next door neighbour was a widow she lived on her own and was so quiet it was like living next door to a empty house for a lot of years. Unfortunately she passed away. The house was empty for a while then it was rented to a Young couple He is a drug addict all though now he is supposed to be on a program to clean him up. It was Hell when they first moved in the Police were there every other day. my wife had to go to Court as a witness to him assaulting is partner in the front Garden while resisting arrest and trying to drive off whilst under the influence of drugs. They had two Children while they were.
They eventually moved out we were so pleased. Today my wife rang me at work apparently the House has been rented to what sounds to me like immigrants apparently he does not speak English or very little his wife has some English and they have a Young Daughter of about 8. She rang me to tell me another Guy turned up in a Van apparently of Asian decent and they ended up toe to toe in the front garden. The lady knocked on the door with a mobile phone she had called the Police but they could not understand her. So my Wife stood on our front door step explaining to the Police what was going on. The police eventually turned up and every one disappeared. Apparently the Couple are looking forward to moving in next door to this nice English Lady. Would I let them know I have guns in the House what do you think. And I have to worry in case they should complain that I have guns and they are worried about my behaviour. It beggars belief.

Alpha1. The mother father and daughter are just the advance party, the rest of the family will be moving in later. Yeah tell them you have guns, who knows the new neighbour might want to go shooting with you, could be your new bestest pal.

Thanks BLU new you would understand. Don't get to excited about it because I have a feeling my humble abode might be up for sale some time soon for a very reasonable price. I could just be your new next door neighbour how far are you from Beaumont Texas we have a facility there that desperately wants out people to go there.

Nothing to get excited about as far as I can see. Unless you can find another Asian family to sell to you might have a problem selling your place though.

Far enough away to not have to care about it

If the truth was told no that is not a problem they built a Huge Hospital complex on the other side of the main road that passes the Estate I live on. Then they designated it a University teaching Hospital. Best thing that ever happened to me our house prices doubled over night. Doctors and Nurses moved in by the Bus load all colours and creeds. I could sell my house in a snap. I am just old don't know were I would go.
The other thing is I don't know how they can afford the rent some body must be subsidising them probably the tax payers.

Alpha1, well I wish you good luck with your sale if you go ahead. As to where to go if you move, somewhere with better gun laws and where you can shoot when you want to.

Plant the idea of retiring to somewhere nice and warm, South of France is nice so I'm led to believe, don't know much about their gun laws.
