Because it was, it has an interesting history, I can't remember the details but not ex-UK mil IIRC.

Because it was, it has an interesting history, I can't remember the details but not ex-UK mil IIRC. I was shooting that match I didn't see you maybe I was on the other detail.
I started with a SGC but now have one of the first batch of Bradley Arms AR-15's. The only advice I will offer is you need a flat top receiver (my SGC had a high top, one of the reasons it was sold on), you need the side cocking handle, you don't need to have a left hand cocking handle and you don't need a 20" heavy fluted barrel. If you were there on Sunday you will have seen nobody using the top charging handle to operate their rifle.

Most use a scope.
There is a separate class for irons.

The service class shooters are restricted to a maximum of 4x ( some use a gaycog ) and shoot unsupported.
The practical class shooters use unlimited optics and shoot from a bipod.

I'd assume it's an L98A1, I know there are a few in civilian hands (apparently about 3 in the UK) - the MOD won't sell to civilians here, many come from Canada apparently?

If it was an L98A2 (or either L85 or L86 variant) that'd come under the converted Section 5 hiccup.
