Re: EU to propose banning semi auto "weapons"
I've heard it all now and on balance I'd say the majority of member states are against the current proposals and those that aren't against them don't know what they're on about.
I live in hope.

So far it's been quite decent. Aside from the Portuguese woman, everyone has been pretty much tearing into the Commission's proposals.safetyfirst wrote:I've heard it all now and on balance I'd say the majority of member states are against the current proposals and those that aren't against them don't know what they're on about.

Re: EU to propose banning semi auto "weapons"
But Cameron is massively in favour and since everybody there think he is an utter tw*t hopefully they will vote agst the proposal just to p*ss him off ...
Re: EU to propose banning semi auto "weapons"
If aesthetics and visual appearances matter so much then Merkel and Cameron should be first to go - right ugly gits.
The "looks" thing is just nonsense....they do not discriminate against people by "looks"..although they used to. A shallow argument put forward by shallow people who are too scared to tackle the REAL problem - criminals and terrorists!

Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!

Actually I think it is. There was a time when we were not in the EU. We managed then. We will manage again.snayperskaya wrote:Ok, if you say soExplosive wrote:

I dont really care about the politics of it. What I object to is the 2nd layer of politics. And the enforced joining of people / countries / cultures / economies which are not compatible.
And the fact that despite this "common laws" in EU - we get the dirty end of the stick - a lot of things are legal all over EU but NOT in UK !

Dear Constituent,
Thank you for writing to me on this subject. I share your concerns about the proposed Amendment to the Firearms Directive.
I can assure you that if and when it comes before the Parliament that UKIP MEPs will oppose it and vote against. I was able to speak on this subject in my Committee meeting (Civil Liberties Justice and Home Affairs) on 16th February in Brussels. You can hear what I had to say by clicking on the link below.
I was also pleased to hear that the expert giving evidence to the Committee, Dr Benstein, seemed to agree with me on the inappropriateness of the measures proposed. I was also pleased to hear that most of the MEPs on the Committee agree with that. It is very quickly becoming apparent that the proposal is totally unworkable.

However some kind of knee-jerk legislation will nevertheless appear before us. May I suggest that if you don't like this kind of legislation being imposed on the UK then you should vote to leave the coming Referendum.
Somehow that MP restored my confidence in some politicians

The latest amendment to the proposals no includes MAGAZINES in the list of 'essential components' which would mean you would need a 'good reason' to own/purchase/replace one (or several).
Amendment 3;

This sort of nonsense has been proposed before and it's always been determined as being unworkable but here we are again aaarggh Time to get emailing again folks!

You will also find that most of the EU rules we complain about have extras imposed by our government to fulfil their never dying urge to put their own mark on it, just like dogs p*** on gate posts.breacher wrote:Actually I think it is.
