What makes you think it will be some and not all !
I have read the full proposals bolt action and lever action rifles for example are not mentioned only semi automatic firearms in particular those able to be converted to fully automatic. So they by lack of mention could be spared. Do not also forget that semi automatic and pump action shotguns could well be affected by these proposals.

I e mailed (in English) the author of the proposals for interest this is his address Pierre.Delsaux@ec.europa.eu you probably will get a reply as I did but it is too much to include in these pages.

We should also consider that there are very many manufactures of sporting firearms and shotguns in Europe who may well take action in an attempt to stop these proposals. I do not believe we can expect any 'political' support in our country judging by my own so called 'supporter' (MP) of the shooting sports.

If that does happen, then I'll have to hand them all in. There will be no choice.

Could you please explain in which context you say the above? I am not aware of any semi-auto shotguns that can be converted to full auto? I have two Benelli shotguns (M1 Super 90 & M2 Practical)... and the Practical could be said to have something of a "Black Tactical, Military" look to it.... which the government may disapprove of :o

I suppose, it depends on what aspect of "Military/full-auto" the authors are considering in the proposed legislation, they might be thinking of the military parent firearm in a particular family - M16/AR15 or Fal/ Civvy spec Imbel etc - or a broader sweep, anything that looks military or could be converted to full auto.

As has been said, anything semi auto can be converted to full auto with varying degrees of success, even a semi auto pistol can be made to go full auto if someone was mad enough to carry out such a pointless exercise, with that in mind, they could ban semi auto pistols in Europe too!

EU Gun Ban debate 'live'.

It starts about 1:50:00 in. The nuts and bolts of the ban get a good kicking from the Finnish rep starting around 2:06:30

That link is fascinating, it really gives a good insight in to the minds of MEP's. Based on that video, they're not going to get this directive through. As one of them said "Don't insult the public's intelligence." Good stuff.
