Well oomans, we're still toying with this idea... We have an old P14 with a hammer forged 7.62x51 NATO target barrel that might serve as a donor, assuming that the Russian bullets will squeeze down the bore. If not, we may have to look at a purpose built rifle in 7.62x54R Above all, remeber that the aim is something low cost that fires military surplus 7.62x54R accurately

We've just read this article http://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewto ... ff6535a755 which describes the procedure for resurrecting worn out Enfields to shoot 7.62x54R. Quite successfully, so it seems. Maybe an SMLE with a heavy stainless target barrel discreetly hidden under the full length wood and nose cap is the way to go ?
