There is no mention of in another country, only in the UK, what it is “registered” as (whatever that is!) s7 FAA 1988 says “Any weapon which has at any time been a weapon of any kind as described in s5” any weapon, at any time.

I appreciate it’s not what people want to hear, but that is the law. Alan Westlake, gun maker and former director of the Sportsmans Association states as much on his own site as well!

The S&W LBRs as described on this thread would be s5 prohibited weapons. That’s a five year mandatory prison sentence...

So what you are saying is Rude Fat Dog and John Robinson are selling illegal guns?
Only a Court can say that .

Its clear that they feel that can assemble LBR's out of the UK legally .

Its also clear that the vast majority of the Gun Trade consider this to be illegal .

And a lot of responsible FAC holders would not touch them with a barge pole .

If the Home Office/Police ever do take action and have them ruled illegal the damage done to shooting sports will be immense .

Why would that bother them ?

You can just see the scum journalist headlines.

"Legal Registered Firearms Dealers break the handgun ban!

Thousands of illegal handguns now on the streets"

Only more sensationalist and worse, when have journalists ever let the truth get in the way of a headline, their misinformation will be verified by the overtly anti legal gun ownership organisation NABIS and their "experts".

So when a non UK factory is building a UK legal Sect 1 , does it matter if they put the barrel on first , then the coathanger .

Or should they put the coathanger on first and the barrel .

Of course if they took a gun out of stock that had a barrel fitted that was less than 12 inches , removed the barrel and fitted a 12 inch and the coathanger , it would be Sect 5 .

So Devils advocate, how would they know if it was every barrelled in the first place? Assuming its sold as new how do they track a serial number if it came from the USA.

Do you really think that a reputeable company will waste time and risk possible sanctions by taking a normal barreled gun from stock , removing the barrel and putting a 12 inch barrel on it ? . Plus the coathanger .

As far as the serial number is concerned , the US State Dept will have the number of the gun being exported , if it does not meet the conditions of the export licence , it could be seized . Just ask Stockade about the problems exporting 12 inch barrel guns from the US .

The UK Air Freight Company and the UK Air Freight Agent will have the serial number of the gun before it even arrives in the UK , this means that the Border Agency will also have the details . All it takes is one anti gun Border Agency employee to email S & W or Glock .

Need I say more ?

Sounds like a load of rubbish to me.

There are plenty of reputable companies importing converted Pistols of all sorts of variations that meet UK Law.

There are also plenty of reputable UK RFD’s selling these LBR/LBPs without issues.

If like you say the air freight companies have serial numbers etc are you saying they don’t check the ones already in circulation in the UK?

Well there’s two already been discussed in this thread.

Rude Fat Dog sells the Europa - Based on S&W 686.
John Robinson sells his version of the S&W 686 frames (I don’t know if he is a registered RFD Though)

And if you believe what others say and frames are not available separately then they are both conversions from their original production. BUT converted outside the UK and both comply with UK Gun laws and are being used on the competition circuit and clubs around the UK.
