Isnt this the case with most firearms manufacturers??? It certainly applies to Accuracy international Rifles.

OK, heres the thing..... Bob did express concern at some of the methods newer guys use in connection to reloading. He was telling me some of the things that owners had been doing it was quite scary! These were not stories that he (Bob) had made up but rather posts on forums that he had seen with his own eyes making it obvious that certain owners had been rather silly. I won't go into details, but it was certainly a case of how stupid can you really get?

I personally have been reloading ammunition for around 12 years... my Dad has been reloading since around the late 1940's.... neither of us have ever blown anything up

One of the members here bought a new lever release. as far as I remember, I'm sure FB was involved in some discussion about load data. The rifle blew up after a couple of hundred rounds. FB immediately distanced himself from it citing reloaded ammunition. When the rifle gave way, it did so whilst shooting factory ammo. Be aware.

I've owned three SGC rifles in my time. Damn fine rifles they were as well. Two I bought brand new, one second hand. I'm more than conversed in his pre sale "ball tickling", as so eloquently put by Blackstuff, but when I spoke to him about the second hand gun, for some history and advice on it, you'd have thought I'd just spat in his dinner!

I won't be buying another of his.

I've kept out of this as my problems with Bob are well known, however I'll just say this.

I also talked to Bob before buying about reloading, I have emails going back and forth discussing the proposed bullets & powder types, at no time was it mentioned that reloading would invalidate any warranty or be a problem of any sort. At the time he was selling bullets and brass to reload for the 9mm at the various trade shows.

Yes, I had problems setting up the progressive press with the Berrys plated bullets and Tightgroup powder but none of those rounds were ever fired.

I have been loading ammunition since 1978 including several thousand rounds of 9mm for my Beretta 92s, I have never had a single problem with any reloaded round, ever.

From day one the rifle would occasionally jam loading rounds and the bolt would not go fully into battery, I have photos of this and the damage it caused to casings.

At the time of the failure I was shooting PRVI factory ammunition, I had been using this to run the rifle in using full power factory ammunition.

The Izhmash handbook for my SVD specifically states that only factory ammunition should be used and that the use of handloads will invalidate the warranty.

That's not disputed, but did Izhmash have a conversation with you about loading for the rifle before you bought it? Likewise, did Izhmash have cases, bullets and data that were also offered for sale with your SVD? No, but SGC did...
