One of my first was a lovely Anschutz in .22 Hornet. Lovely walnut tyrolean cheekpiece and double set triggers.
Should never have sold it :-(

Yes! Had a Erma M1 too, traded it for a 10/22, I wanted to keep it but the Dragon Lady (Civilian office worker) would not allow me two Semi 22s, her attitude was if you don't like my (Biased) decision you will have to go to court. Thankfully she is retired now.froggy wrote:Aged 14, I emptied my saving book of all my B'day, X'Mas & odds jobs money & went with my father to the gunsmith to buy a Toz . He knew the gun of my dreams was really the Erma M1 22Lr . Dads know those things & he made up the difference. I still have it, still occasionally shoot it & since my son has his eyes onto it, the Erma will probably remain in the family for an other generation.
Ask Chuck about her.
Intend to get a Chiappa M1 Carbine sometime.

I still have my CZ452 which I had on my 16th Birthday, I also have the first gun I paid for myself, a Navy Arms side by side muzzle loading 12 bore which I paid the princely sum of £75. That shotgun has more than earned its keep with the amount of trophies it won. I don't shoot clay comps any more but I do like to get the old hammer gun out for a play now and then.

25: Don't remind me - though froggy would probably give her one
Renewal converstion with "her"
Her " You have a lot of guns"!
Me: "Yes, they are all for specific purposes as detailed on my supporting info sheet".
Her: I still think you have too many guns"
Me "Compared to who?"
Her: Who gave you all those guns anyway"
Me: "You did!"
Her:..................................................
FAC renewal arrived PDQ.
Same department told me it was OK for the missus to bring her S5 semi auto shotgun and S1 ammo into the UK!

Still have a Lee Enfield No 4 MK2 that I bought nearly 30 years ago, still shoots well.
Re: Who here still has the first gun they ever bought?
I still have my 577/450 Mkiv Martini Henry that I bought for £85 in 1977....and I still shoot it.

Still got it, 59 years later. Still shoot it, once a year, on my ol' Dad's birthday. Cooey Model 75 .22LR. Birthday present from my Dad in 1956.
