I recognised that and I realise that I'm being very generous towards BASC but like I said, from a BASC perspective their press release would be technically correct, if they believe their representation influenced the Home Office decision.

But I don't know who or what made the Home Office change their minds, which is why I'm refraining from saying that BASC is out and out lying.

Out of curiosity, did the GTA mention anyone's else's involvement in the outcome of this?

The GTA never claimed anyone's involvement lead to the change of heart, they just reported the change to members.

Then I concede your point regarding BASC, Adam.

Having now had this verified by the HO, hopefully to your satisfaction, for over a week could you point to these expected headlines please and where you originally envisaged this "big news" appearing?
We've had one working day of 2015 so far. Those (limited) parts of the shooting press I know well enough to comment on downed tools at the end of the week before Christmas and aren't due to pick them back up again until Monday, hence the lack of headlines. I'm willing to bet that the Home Office sneaked the announcement out on the 23rd knowing they would be able to get away with it as very few people were looking.

If we haven't seen anything by the middle of next week then it would seem the 4th estate has fallen asleep on watch. I might point a few acquaintances in the requisite direction.
