Surely the ping thing is only satisfying in the original semi-auto version?, not really sure it's worth all this fuss!
Sadly, very true of most "interesting" UK rifles, AR's, AK's and Drag's included ...

You're wrong Snayperskaya, some years back we had my straight pull Garand down the range and a guy recorded the 'ping' as his ring tone. razz razz
With the Semi Auto M1, there was a mode where it became straight pull in service.
Fit the M7 Grenade Launcher and a spigot on the device operates a valve in the front plug of the gas tube. This disables semi auto functioning. It was designed that way to avoid damage to the rifle. If you left the M7 in place after the grenade has been launched, you could fire normal rounds but only by manually cocking between shots.
So, new Garand owners, pretend you're shooting grenades................just keep the muzzle down.

A bit like the Yugo Zastava M70 AK variant, fit the grenade launcher spigot and flip up the grenade launcher sight on the gas block and it closes off the gas port so a blank round can launch the grenade.
