Yes it is the tactical brake. There's an end cap that you unscrew and then the AI moderator screws on to a reverse thread on the muzzle brake to cover it up. Good design IMO.
Thanks.

I knew you'd come to my rescue...
I have some Lapua brass, dies and 139 Scenar bullets, just no bloody powder! If I can source some N560 on Friday, I'll be at the range on Sunday if you're about.

Wow!
Lovely looking rifle
I think it is very difficult to justify a 308 AX over this
Is there a folding stock option on the AT and can you fit an AX stock do you know?
Just curious.

That was the problem I faced. I was assured by AI, both rifles were as accurate as each other and so the AX becomes a very expensive stock. Yes and it's fitted to mine. If you look under the bolt handle you'll see the folding stock push button. If you mean the rem 700 stock chassis then I doubt it.

Yes it does become an expensive stock as a 308 which.......doesn't seem to be justified when you consider the AX vs AT Remi 700 stock prices.
After your pic I actually prefer yours to the keyslot ras / ris
Anyway.....So could you fit an AX stock to an AT?

I think the only complaint about the AT has been the 20 moa rail, but there will be a 0 moa drop in replacement soon.
No I don't believe you can use a Remington AI-AX stock on an AT, otherwise it makes a mockery of the AX price structure, plus the internal dimensions will be different.

Sorry I meant the 'real' AX folding shoulder stock part.
The new bit that folds that is more frame like.
I think that would look sweet on an AT and give more adjustability.
Actually it must fit because they had AX with your shoulder stock last year???
It's really really nice.
What rails do you get with it BTW?

My theory on the 308 AX and pricing is that it just costs that much because it is more robust and military grade for dropping out of a plane etc.
Or £2k for a floating barrel????
So in a way pointless for us target shooters.
AT all the way then.
