Very Nice, change it to a flat top with a quad rail forend in 300 Blackout and I'll have one pleasesconie wrote:i£1250
How does that spec sound ?.
This will get you started but you'll probably be disappointed with the performance after a while if you shoot competitively.sconie wrote:

My 1:9" shoots well enough, John, 3rd in the Methuen this year and with 77gn SMKs.John MH wrote:sconie wrote:http://www.nwcustomparts.com/ar15/image ... arbine.jpg

As John says, best thing you can do is float the barrel, especially if you sling in hard. This will get you started but you'll probably be disappointed with the performance after a while if you shoot competitively.Mid Length Handguards, Triangle End Cap - Ideally you want a free float forend but not necessarily a quad rail

Maybe you got lucky but as a rule you need a faster twist even the Sierra box for the 77s says 7"- 8" twist, the 69 Box does say 7" - 10" twist. So if you want to shoot heavier bullets I'd recommend opting for a faster twist. The standard spec AR15 gun bought off the self in the USA usually has a 1" - 9" barrel as the mass market shoot a lot of 55 grain bullets and not the heavier 62 grain and up. That does not mean to say that you'll be able to shoot better than your 9" twist barrel but if its faster you wont be worrying if its too slow.Mattnall wrote: My 1:9" shoots well enough, John, 3rd in the Methuen this year and with 77gn SMKs.
