When we are give a date by plod to hand all our guns in.

If you don't hand them in they won't have the resources to collect them all!

I propose civil disobedience because we should not acknowledge the legitimacy of their injudicious regulations.

The police will be overburdened for years tracking down otherwise law-abiding citizens refusing to comply with confiscations (tens of thousands of people are likely in the Czech Republic alone as civil disobedience is already being vocally advocated) and some citizens will simply purchase illegal firearms, which are the same guns that the EU Commission claims to protect us from.

Europe has a history of revelations I bet that many euros are not going to give up
their guns !

And the last few posts make for an interesting debate. Purely in the interests of "academic study", I'm not sure if we could be onto a winner with that. Just say no.

Prior to any judgement/ruling/order from the EU, we inform our own government that we will not abide by such a ruling that has been made in a foreign country, by foreign politicians, in response to a terrorist action, the repeat of will in no way be prevented...

And how many are going to hold their nerve when they make being in possession alone an absolute offence for which there's no defence*, with a sentence of say, ooo, 5-10 years? Not like they've ever done that before is it.....

*unless of course you're a scumbag who never legally owned it in the first place and who can grass in others higher up the chain

On the news program there were Huges cues of gun owners waiting outside the police station to resgister their guns and apply for permits The police had massive backlog of applications So much for "no gun owners are going to register their guns" etc

Actually Joe in CT only about a third of the legal gun owning population complied with their new laws which came into effect on the 1st January 2014 and which were later struck down by the CT State Supreme Court. The amount of civil disobedience startled CT State law makers or more than likely damn well frightened them. The only thing the State could do was to try and make it more difficult for folks by milking them for permit fees which are done for free in other States. Joe, I just read that the argument the US NRA used in court was the US Justice Departments own figures on US gun crime. They showed that according to the USJD figures, only 2% of so called assault weapons were/are used to commit gun crime, the AR's and other semi auto firearms was what CT was going after.

Interesting, however it wasn't the US Supreme Court Joe it was the The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York. You can bet though that it will be heading to the US Supreme Court.
