Very good customer service, recommended by eotech as an alternative to using Viking who wanted over 800.

Eotech had some bad press but that's at extreme temperatures, for normal uk use its fine. I have a 552 on my ST22 and it's great.

Opps, didn't realise it was ITAR. These are the cheapest I've found outside the US, anyone know cheaper. http://www.vxtactical.co.uk/product-category/optics/

Are they grey imports? Viking is the official importer and I believe they wanted silly money for trade, and another rfd had a second hand one up for 750.

As the eotech is law enforcement / military it is on it at I believe, I got permission to personally export one when I was over there but it made sense to pay a little more fore a more local and easier to deal with importer if warranty work was required.

CMMG experimented with .22WMR in one of their .22 AR15's, with a view to producing an M4 in that calibre (I would have gone for one in a shot), I think it rapidly became apparent that the compact Ciener bolt group used in quality AR .22 builds and conversion kits by various companies was just unsuitable for the hotter calibre.

A mate in the US tells me they got it working in a fashion, with very strong return springs to assist in delaying the action among other mods, but on occasion, it would just let go with an almighty FLASH BANG BOOM!

The up shot was a totally new bolt design would be required, considering the development costs and the limited market, just not worth it.. Shame though.
I seem to recall attempts were made by Alexander Arms to get a uk 22 wmr version of the 17hmr going, feeding issues with the mags was what I was told, plus focus on other more attainable things.
They have them for sale on their website http://www.shopalexanderarms.com/17_HMR-Rifles.html
I meant issue's feeding 22 wmr, not 17 hmr, either way the 22 wmr has been abandoned.

Repro M1 carbine mag pouch and gun slip should be delivered tomorrow or Monday from epicmilitaria.com (nice folks, spoke on the phone to their sales to combine shipping - no problem).

I thnk I might be turning into a reenactor. If anyone sees me in a WW2 helmet at the range, please take appropriate action bangbang

I didn't want to sound like a dick (like I normally do :squirrel: ) but after I paid and got my FAC sorted, I did mention to the guy in the shop that I think he was about £200 out on the price.

Give him his credit, he just appeared happy that I was so over the moon - both at finding a rifle I've always wanted, and at a price I could afford!
