Pete
As mentioned above PSG is mainly with S1 shotguns which require an FAC. However,
i have noticed on the forums i'm a member of an increase in sales of 'military-style' .22's
Conversely a gun shop that I regularly visit now has a rack dedicated to semi-auto.22RF Tactical Rifles. They had at least 8 different makes models with several "sold" and others awaiting new stock so someone is buying them....... people like me (just ordered a Sig 522 SWAT) because our club is setting up for Tactical Rifle comps..... (hope they don't get banned).

Hope is no good. Don't hope, take action! You want your MEPs shoulders to slump every time they now read your name!

UKIP will vote no, but they're playing politics with their stock reply, especially the last bit.

Surely most Practical Shotgun is done with Sect 1 shotguns, so will not be reflected in SGCs anyway ?

I have completed the online petition in my own words rather than copy and paste what was sent to me via e-mail.
I will be seeing Mike Eveleigh, senior firearms officer for BASC tomorrow evening at the club and I will be asking him what the current situation is and how I can help.

Reply from BASC.
Dear Andy
Thank you for your email on the European Commission proposals to amend the Firearms Directive.
BASC are working hard along with a number of other countryside and shooting organisations to lobby MEPs, the Commission and UK Government to explain the dangers of creating laws which will not benefit anyone, not least legal shooters of semi-automatic firearms. Clearly a distinction needs to be recognised between illegal firearms and legal firearms.
You will have already seen from the Fast Track email “Tell Europe what you think about their Firearms proposals” – and I would encourage you to do this. We have also produced a Q&A on the proposals which is on the BASC website should you wish to read more.
The New Year will bring another round of committee scrutiny of the proposals and we will continue to work with UK MEPs to resist a number of these, and updates will be sent and posted on the website.
Thanks again for your note.
With best wishes
Tom Clayton
