In the book they hint at a centrefire by refer reloading / handloading cartridges etc - probably thats where the Hornet came into it.
Book and film are often different. I was amazed at first blood when I bought and read a copy. So different from the film.

Probably down to what the film armourer could build within the budget and make believably small enough to fit inside the crutch.

First Blood would have better if they'd been more faithful to the book.

Question if you don't mind, how do you find the Vortex? I'm interested in the Spitfire 3x for my 15-22 & wondered what you thought? I did look at the Sparc with additional magnifier but....?
Also where did you pick up your Ambi safety & extended mag release? Cheers in advance.

I'm impressed with the 1x Spitfire so far, bolted it on and it was pretty much point of aim, very windy yesterday so targets were getting blown away, but hitting broken clays at 50 yards no problem, can't comment on the 3x other than to say I'd probably buy one if looking for a fixed mag optic.

The ambi safety is here.

The extended mag release came from Blackmore Vale Guns

Is it true that the Rossendale ranges require a 4x4 capable vehicle to get to? I heard as much recently on a course when I said I was looking to attend there.

In good weather a 4x2 car or van with decent ground clearance can get up, but once it's wet a 4 x 4 is the only way.
